Realism: This Umarex replica is a very close copy of the real steel H&K VP9 9mm pistol. You will even find HK licensing throughout the gun. Some details that make this airgun very believable are the blowback action, full size drop out metal magazine, cut out ejection port with 9mm markings, recessed barrel, a working slide catch release, and a trigger safety. One giveaway that the Umarex HK VP9 is not the real deal is the safety switch on the right hand side of the frame, but it is fairly small so it does not catch the eye easily.
